Stimulus packages in Bangladesh had only limited employment impact. The share of total employment that could be reached through current state of implementation is around 8% which would have reached to 12% if fully implemented. Meanwhile, the total amount of Bangladesh’s stimulus packages was lower than neighbouring countries.
Social safety net programmes (SSNPs) are key enablers to attain basically all the SDGs at the country level. Increased collaborative effort and coordination amongst the grassroots, government representatives and government officials are essential to ensure the efficient delivery of the SSNPs. Non-state actors including NGOs, think tanks, media and private sectors, in developing countries, like Bangladesh, are playing a critical role in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They are contributing in this SDG journey through prioritising development agenda, implementing the targets, monitoring the delivery and ensuring accountability in the overall process.

There is a shortage of adequate and skilled human resources at the community clinics and health centers in the coastal region of Bangladesh. People of these hard-to-reach and disaster-prone areas are being deprived of necessary health services due to lack of human resource in public services.
